Stained Glass: Digital + Print
Over the past couple of years, I have been developing digital illustrations of traditional stained glass. This requires understanding how traditional stained glass is put together, e.g. colour limitations, leading, and the way light interacts with the glass. While these images require time and patience, it is a joy to develop new techniques. I have always loved stained glass; its beauty has always seemed like a window into the divine.
Notably, while traditional methods involved individual pieces of glass and many restrictions—we can now print onto paper, fabric, transparent film, with application (see library windows), and importantly, we can also print images directly onto glass.
I am taking on commission projects and would love to hear from you if you are looking to commission a stained glass-style digital artwork.
