Since 2022, I have been developing a digital art style inspired by the beauty and craft of traditional stained glass. I have always been drawn to stained glass. There is something about the way colour, light and imagery come together that feels almost like an invitation through glass into something beyond (aka the divine).

Creating digital stained glass is more than simply recreating the look of glass. It involves understanding how traditional stained glass is constructed—the limitations and relationships of colour, the rhythm of lead lines, the division of shapes, and the way light transforms the finished work. Each piece takes time, following my unique process, with patience, problem-solving, and plenty of creative thinking. This reflects my embrace of integrating new techniques and possibilities.

While traditional stained glass is created from individual pieces of coloured glass held together with lead, digital methods open up exciting new possibilities. Artwork can be reproduced onto paper, fabric and transparent film—and can also be printed directly onto glass. For example, see the Library Windows and St Columba and Euphrasie Barbier. 

I am now taking on commissions for digital stained glass-style artwork, working with schools, churches, organisations, and individuals to create meaningful, custom digital stained glass pieces. Commissions generally start from approximately $4,000+, depending on the size, complexity, and number of elements in the artwork, as well as the required timeframe. I'm happy to discuss your ideas and work with you to find an approach that fits your project and your budget.
