Labels:
- The labels needed to work for 2 bag sizes.
- The design was created to enhance // work well with the bag shapes
- Synthetic stock was used (will not rip and is waterproof)
- Matte Laminate applied to match the bag finish
- Metallic silver used to enhance the quality look and feel of the coffee and brand
- Pattern // new graphic elements and colours incorporated
- Most of sales are for one blend. However the crew at Essenza also produce other varieties of coffee + hot chocolate. They also supply in the various grinds.
Printing all these variations would be very expensive…. so we got our thinking cap on.
We decided to print one main label, and then print the other varieties separately. Plus a colour system was set-up for the entire range. Each type was given a graphic element to help identify the blend.
So, by having separate small labels the team can apply the various blends as they are ordered over the top of the main label – nice!

Process; Create initial concepts, agree on shape/ concepts, create colour system, set-up with supplied type, test colours, create mock-ups, source print quotes, set-up final artwork and supply to printer, review proofs, work with the printer to ensure the best possible results.

Sweet Motif is an amazing NZ company that specialises in supplying personalised chocolates. They create chocolate goodies that can display your own unique message or logo.

designjane was stoked to create a new DLE flyer for Wedding promotion in 2012.

Two of the photographs were photoshop’ed by designjane to change the date showing on the chocolates, and generally clean up colours and textures in the products.

To keep things simple we used the classic brand pattern, but changed the colour sheme and paired lovely teal colours with classic black and white. designjane also utilized simple paper textures and gradients to enhance the look and feel of the new design.

Brand colours and fonts were used to keep things ‘on brand’. And also paired those elements with strong photography to simply tell the ’story’ of the brand.

A photoshop mock-up was also created so we could visualise how the sign will look before it was printed.

This projected was designed by designjane and taken all the way through to working with the printer to ensure the results were the best they could be!
